According to the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), around 22,415 PO and 32,453 clerks will be hired by the public sector banks excluding SBI due to expansion of branches and the vacancies created by retirement & attrition of the employees. SBI is independently recruiting 1500 Probationary Officers this year.

Why such huge number of vacancies available in all PSU Banks?

This is good sign for all the public sector banks. In the last year a huge number of employees retired from the job. This is the one reason. For PSU Banks business per employee is higher at the end of March, 2012 than the public sector banks - data by RBI. Government banks concentrate to enhance their business in urban as well as rural areas. For this reason they are expanding their branches in all over the country. Now a days job in bank has become a lucrative & glamorous opportunity for the young generations.

Now what next? Prepared yourself well for the recruitment exam and hit for a job.
