- The Supreme Court of India has appointed a panel headed by Justice Mukul Mudgal to probe IPL fixing.
- The Union Cabinet has cleared the UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) Bill.
- Mangalayaan, India’s first Mars Orbiter Mission had been successfully launched from Satish Dhawan Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.
- Bharti Enterprises and US retail giant Wal-Mart have announced to terminate their joint venture, ending a six-year old relationship.
- A committee, headed by Mukul Mudgal, has proposed a Bill to replace The Cinematograph Act, 1952 in its report submitted to the Information & Broadcast Ministry.
- Cyclone Phailin with a speed of 200 km/h hits coasts of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.
- Arunendra Kumar has been appointed as the new Chairman of Railway Board of India.
- Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) put allegation against Aditya Birla and former secretary P.C. Parekh.
- India has refused to sign the first ever global resolution led by the UN against child-marriage.
- World Bank cut the growth estimate of India from 6.1 percent to 4.7 percent.
- Indian Coast Guard has detained an armed foreign vessel named MV Seaman Guard Ohio Ship at Tuticorin Port, Tamil Nadu.
- The Indo-Russian joint military exercise named ‘INDRA 2013’ has been organized to improve capabilities for carrying out anti-terrorist activities in Thar Desert of Rajasthan.
- The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has started the biggest gold-digging exercise under the fort of Raja Rao Ram Baksh Singh in the village Daundiya Kheda in Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh. It is predicted that around 1000 tonnes of gold are to be lying under the fort.
- The Finance Ministry has announced to infuse Rs. 14000 crores capital in various banks within this fiscal.
- First Indonesian bank branch in India, Bank International Indonesia (BII) was opened in Mumbai.
- Lok Sabha Secretary-General S. Bal Sekhar and RJD’s Lalu Prasad Yadav have been disqualified from the Lok Sabha for nearly 11 years.
- Prime Ministerter Dr. Manmohan Singh visited to China. On his visit, Dr. Singh and China Prime Minister Li Keqiang signed a Border Defence Cooperation Agreement (BDCA).
- Noted playback singer Manna Dey has passed away in a Bengaluru hospital at the age of 94.
- India has resumed military aid to Nepal after nine years of suspension.
- Air Marshal Arup Raha has been sworn as the New Chief of Indian Air Force (IAF). He will take over from present Chief N.K. Brown on 31st December, 2013.
- Vice-President of India Hamid Ansari has launched Indian Chamber of Commerce (INCHAM) in Peru on his visit to this country.
- According Geneva-based World Economic Forum, the rank of India is 101 out of 136 nations on a global gender gap index.
- The Indian Air Force has received its fourth Boeing C-17 Globemaster III from the USA.
- World Bank has approved aid of 250 million dollar to Uttarakhand.
- Report revealed by National Sample Survey Organization (NSSO), Patna became the city with highest unemployment rate among men (11.3%) and women (18.2%) in the year 2009-10.
- Reserve Bank of India has lowered GDP rate from 5.7 percent to 4.8 percent for the current fiscal.
- SENSEX has reached to its all time high of 21294 points due to aggressive buying by the foreign institutional investors with access to low-cost funds in the USA.

- President of Maldives Mohamed Waheed Hassan has withdrawn nomination from the 2013 presidential election.
- Two Russian cosmonauts took the Olympic Torch for a historic spacewalk showcasing the Russia’s hosting of the Sochi Winter Olympic Games in 2014.
- US President Barack Obama has nominated Ms. Janet Yellen as the chairperson of the powerful US central bank. She became the first woman chairperson of the Federal Reserve.
- Switzerland has signed the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development’s (OECD) Multilateral Convention on Mutual Administrative in tax matters with 58 countries including India.
- The Parliament of Greenland votes in favour of removing a 25-year-old ban on uranium mining.
- The US Senate has confirmed the appointment of Indian-origin Ms. Nisha Desai Biswal as the Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia, became the first Asian to hold such position.
- Israel has allowed 899 Indian Jews to immigrate. All are the members of the Bnei Menahse tribe.

- Indian shooters won seven medals including Silver by GS Sharan in Asian Shotgun Championship.
- Dipika Pillikal won the Macau Squash Open by beating former World No. 1 Rachael Gringham.
- Indian has made history in the World Boxing Championship 2013. Five boxers of India have reached to the quarterfinals for the first time.
- Sachin Tendulkar has scored match-winning 79 runs in his last innings for Mumbai in Ranji Trophy.
- World Cup Gold Medalist Sanjeev Rajput won the Gold in men’s 50-metre free rifle prone event in the Asian air gun shooting championship 2013 in Tehran, Iran.
- Rohit Sharma of India hits a record 16 sixes which is the most ever in an ODI innings, in the final match against Australia.
- The International Hockey Federation (IHF) has announced that India will host men’s 2018 World Cup, World League Final (men) in 2015 and 2017, and the Men’s Junior World Cup 2016.
- Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull won the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Championship 2013.
- Indian women’s hockey team won Silver medal in 3rd Asian Championship trophy 2013.
- Mohammad Siddikur of Bangladesh won the 50th edition of Hero Open Golf Tournament 2013 held in New Delhi.

- Pakistan’s teenage activist Malala Yousafzai has been awarded European Union’s prestigious Sakharov Human Rights Prize.

- Father of Green Revolution in India, Dr. M.S. Swaminathan has been honoured with the Indira Gandhi Award for National Integration.
- Sristhi Rana of India won the Miss Asia-Pacific World 2013 crown in Seoul, South Korea.

- Astronomers have found the Earth’s twin named Keplar 78b which is 700 light years away.
- Scientists of USA have developed a new four-legged robot named WildCat that gallops at 25 kmph on flat ground and will aid military and rescue operations.
- US scientists developed a new smart phone application named SpyMeSat which provides notifications when spy satellites and unclassified imaging satellites zoom above the user’s head.
- Volkswagen HL1 hybrid car, the world’s first one-litre vehicle debuts in Beijing, China.
- Scientists have discovered the most distant galaxy ever named z8-GND-5296 which was created within 7-million years of Big Bang.
