Today we are giving here the detailed syllabus, exam pattern of SBI PO recruitment 2014. So, to be prepared well for SBI PO exam, first, you should have to know the exam's syllabus, question pattern.




Syllabus, Exam Pattern of SBI PO 2014 recruitment vacancies

This year, SBI is going to conduct an online test to recruit POs like IBPS. The online exam (objective test) will be of 200 marks. After the online test, there will be a descriptive test which is of 50 marks. The detailed syllabus, pattern of exam are given here-

Objective Test: The objective test consists of 4 subjects which are as follows-
  1. Test of English Language (Grammar, Vocabulary, Comprehension etc.)- 50 Questions
  2. Test of General Awareness, Marketing&Computers- 50 Questions
  3. Test of Data Analysis&Interpretation- 50 Questions
  4. Test of Reasoning (High Level)- 50 Questions
Each question carries 1 mark. Time Duration- 2 hours.

Negative Marks: There is negative marks in SBI PO exam in the ratio of 1:4 i.e. 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer written by the candidates.


sbi po syllabus, exam patternDescriptive Test: Just after finishing objective test (online exam), there will be a descriptive paper of “Test of English Language (comprehension, short prĂ©cis, letter writing and essay)”. This paper is a 'Qualifying in Nature' type test. You need to obtain only minimum qualifying marks in descriptive paper.


Interview and Group Discussion (50 marks): After qualifying in objective and descriptive exam, shortlisted candidates will be called for interview which is of 30 marks and group discussion (GD) of 20 marks. The bank will decide the qualifying marks in interview and GD.


Selection Procedure in SBI PO 2014 recruitment exam

All the candidates should have to qualify in both online test and interview & GD. Final selection will be made on the basis of the performances in objective-descriptive test and interview-GD.


How to calculate combined marks/ score in SBI PO exam?

Marks obtained by the candidates in written exam (out of 250) will be converted to 75 and marks in interview-group discussion will be converted to 25. The final merit list will be made on the basis of combined score out of 100 (75+25 =100).
