How to prepare for Interview in Banking Sector (IBPS/SBI/RBI)

First of all a candidate needs not to be over smart, be casual but should be determined. He or she should be neat and clean in their dress up. A candidate should ware a formal dress as much as possible, but it should be keep in mind that how much he/she is comfortable in this dress. Now there are some questions which are generally asked in the banking sector interview like IBPS PO/Clerk/RRB/SO, SBI PO/Clerk/SO, RBI Assistant/Officer (Grade-B) etc.. These are in the follows:

Why do you want to enter in the banking sector?

Answering this question a candidate must be clear in their mind that why he/she will come to in this sector apart from the others. You have to answer in the point basic like;
  • Banking is a growing industry

  • It much more competitive industry; like this

Who are the major competitors in the banking sectors?

These questions mean to say that hoe much you are aware about the banking service and how much you have knowledge about banking products. So a candidate must read about the annual banking report before facing an interview.


What is Bank?

A bank is a financial institution whose primary activity is to act as a payment agent for customers and to borrow and lend money.


How many types of bank are there?

In this question a candidate must have clear idea about basic functions in bank. And then he/she should give an answer in bullets point, like 
  • Commercial Bank
  • Community Bank
  • Postal saving Bank
  • Private Bank
  • Savings Bank etc.

What is the difference between Public, Private and Government sectors?
  • Public sector: It is a part of economy which is controlled by the government like police, military, public road, primary education etc.
  • Private sector: It is sometimes called citizen sector. It is mean enterprise for profit, but is nit control by the state.
  • Government sector: It is a heavy industry to bolster making public sector enterprise as well as revive sick and loss making enterprise under its administrative control.

Before giving this answer a candidate must give an introduction about RBI and then his/her answer should be as follows-

The Reserve Bank of India is the central bank of India, was established on April 1, 1935 in accordance with the provision of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934. The Reserve Bank of India was set up on the recommendations of the Hilton Young Commission. And the functions are

An interviewer may ask about the various terms and rate about banking sector, so a candidate must know about the different terms and different banking rates like:

  • Recession
  • Mutual Funds

What is the difference between the Banking and Finance?
The candidate must give this answer this question very smart and promptly like,

The term Banking and Finance are two very different term but are often associated together. Finance is generally related to all types financial, this could be accounting, insurances and policies. Where Banking is everything that happens in a bank only.
